Kona burglaries, thefts (July 20-Aug. 9)

MEDIA RELEASE

Kona Community Policing staff compile a weekly listing of burglaries and thefts in the West Hawaii community. This update covers July 20-Aug. 9.

BURGLARIES

On July 21, a reported burglary at the Sheraton Bay Keauhou, unknown responsible(s) entered a room and a Sony digital camera, jewelry and cooler taken.

On July 22, a reported burglary at the Royal Seacliff Resort, unknown responsible(s) entered a room and a purse with contents taken.

On July 24, a reported burglary in the 6100 Block of Alii Dr., a 30 inch flat screen TV taken.

UCPV (STOLEN VEHICLE)

On July 22, a reported UCPV at Alii Cove, a White 2007 Rexy moped bearing serial number RFRSMNAF05M202354 was taken from the parking lot.

On July 23, a reported UCPV at Mountain Thunder Coffee, a Blue 2007 Yamaha Enduro bearing license number 475HNP and serial number JYA4BEE057A085208 taken from the parking lot.

On July 26, a reported UCPV in the 5700 block of Lamaokeola St. A black 2012 Honda Ruckus moped was taken. Unknown license plate.

On July 30, a reported UCPV in the 5600 block of Palani Rd. A blue 2012 Sym DD Moped with Lic#H34439 was taken.

On July 30, a reported UCPV on Rock Bottom Rd. A green 1997 Honda Accord with Lic# HZB361

On Aug. 5, a reported UCPV at the Makalapua Cinemas, a lifted Silver 2002 Toyota Tacoma bearing Hawaii license plate HHE216 was taken. Vehicle has black rims and oversized BF Goodrich tires

UEMV (THEFT FROM VEHICLE)

On July 20, a reported UEMV in the Sam’s Hideaway parking lot, vehicle’s CD player and U.S. Currency taken.

On July 23, a reported UEMV in the 5500 Block of Kaiwi St., vehicle entered unknown items taken.

On July 26, a reported UEMV on Pukiawe St., Car parts removed.

On July 28, a reported UEMV in the 5600 block of Olowalu St., A spare tire was taken.

On July 28, a reported UEMV in the 00 block of Kealakehe Pkwy., Attempted to remove a car speaker.

On Aug. 4, a reported UEMV at the Old Kona Airport Park, person was observed going into a State of Hawaii work vehicle. Person was later contacted and arrested, person admitted to siphoning gas from the vehicle.

THEFT

On July 20, a reported theft Kona Old Airport, while at a car show victim had his custom painted battery and ignition cover taken.

Between July 23 and July 24, a reported theft at Kealakehe Intermediate School, gas siphoned from a vehicle.

Between July 23 and July 24, a reported theft at an undeveloped construction site in Holualoa, a Makita skill saw, Honda generator and Echo leaf blower taken.

Between July 24 and July 25, a reported theft in the 6300 Block of Kilohana St. (construction site), an Orange Ridgid brand 2.5 horsepower dual tank compressor taken.

Between July 24 and July 25, a reported theft at Honokohau Harbor, Resin heads, fishing gloves and boat shoes taken.

On Aug. 3, a reported theft at the Kona Bali Kai, a female left her wallet at the receptions desk and went back to look for it but it was gone and never returned or turned in.

On Aug. 6, a reported theft at the Kona Hospital, a 1.5 cushion cut diamond engagement ring was taken from a locker within the women’s locker room.
