Governor signed 70 bills before end of session

MEDIA RELEASE

Gov. Neil Abercrombie signed more than 70 bills into law before the end of the 2013 Legislative Session. The Legislature passed 293 bills, 170 of which were Senate Bills.

The 2013 Legislative Session ended May 2.

Important Dates

* June 24, 2013 — 35th day after adjournment sine die

Ten days’ notice of plans to return a bill with objections
deadline.

* July 9, 2013 — 45th day after adjournment sine die

The governor shall have 45 days, after the adjournment of the legislature sine die, to consider bills presented to the governor less than ten days before such adjournment, or presented after adjournment, and any such bill shall become law on the 45 day unless the governor by proclamation shall have given 10 days’ notice to the legislature that the governor plans to return such bill with the governor’s objections on that day.
