Punahou freshman Mariel Galdiano shot a second-round 2-under-par 69, for a two-day total 137 at the Royal Kaanapali Course to earn her the individual crown in the David S. Ishii Foundation Girls Golf State Championships.
That performance helped the Buffanblu capture their sixth state championship in seven years.
The Waiakea team was 17 strokes behind and had to settle for state runner-up. Waiakea was led by Ciera Min, who finished the tournament a total of 7 strokes behind Galdiano.
