Police close part of Opelo Road in Waimea due to dangerous overhanging tree

MEDIA RELEASE

Police are asking motorists to avoid Opelo Road between Hokuula Road and Konokohau Road in Waimea until about 9:45 a.m. Thursday (April 18) due to a tree hanging dangerously over the road and tree debris blocking the roadway.

Crews have been on the scene, but will return during daylight hours to complete the work due to safety issues. Please use Konokohau Road and Lae Lae Road as alternate routes to access Lihipali Road, Konokohau Road and the upper portions of Opelo Road
