Hawaii Health Connector seeks customer service proposals

MEDIA RELEASE

The Hawaii Health Connector has announced it has released a request for proposals (RFP) for the development, implementation and management of a customer service contact center and support services.

The Connector is releasing the RFP to solicit proposals from qualified vendors to provide best in class customer service. The nonprofit state-based Exchange is seeking a customer service partner that knows how to service Hawaii’s residents, and that can bring strong capabilities that will enable a seamless customer experience.

The RFP can be found at: www.hawaiihealthconnector.com/Public_Notices.html

“The Connector’s goal is to provide Hawaii residents with high quality customer service,” said Coral Andrews, Hawaii Health Connector’s executive director. “Our brand is built upon being of Hawai‘i, for Hawaii, and a major component of that is being a trusted community resource. Vendors need to be able to meet the needs of Hawaii residents, and provide the right level of information and individualized assistance that empowers consumers to make decisions about the purchase of health insurance plans through the Connector.”

The customer service contact center will be one of several customer service arms to reach Hawaii’s small businesses, uninsured and underinsured.

Vendor should be prepared to offer flexible and scalable operations throughout the duration of the contract reflecting the business requirements that are subject to change and are refined over time.

The Hawaii Health Connector is the online health insurance exchange for Hawaii. The Connector was established as a non-profit organization in 2011 by the Hawaii State Legislature through Act 205, in order to comply with the federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) of 2010.

The Connector’s aim is an online marketplace that is of Hawaii-for-Hawaii, one that takes into account the State’s unique culture and works with the Prepaid Health Care Act, an employer mandate for health insurance coverage in effect since 1974.
