Mauna Kea Access Road is closed due to high winds

The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a high wind warning until 6 p.m. Saturday (Jan 19) for the summits of Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea over 8,000 feet.

Winds are coming from the Northwest at 30-50 mph with gusts over 65 mph.

Mauna Kea Access Road is closed to the public above the Visitor Information Station due to dangerous driving conditions.
