Isle voters return Green, Solomon to Senate; Hirono to D.C.

Six state legislative seats were on the line Tuesday, including three in the House and three in the Senate.

Four incumbents were returned to their offices and two slots feature new lawmakers.

Voter turnout

For Hawaii County, 104,323 people were registered to vote.

Total county turnout was 63,793 or 61.1%

That was split almost evenly between precinct voters on election day (32,067 or 30.7%) and absentee voters (31,726 or 30.4%)

Statewide, there are 705,668 registered voters. A total of 436,520, or 61.9%, cast ballots.

That total was divided into 236,444 or 33.5% who showed up election day and 200,076 or 28.4% who voted early.
