Walter Victor Baseball Complex closed until October 12 for maintenance

MEDIA RELEASE

The County of Hawai‘i Department of Parks and Recreation has temporarily closed Hilo’s Walter C.K. Victor Baseball Complex to perform annual maintenance work.

Following a busy summer season that saw the return of professional baseball to Hilo, the three ball fields are receiving new sod and being manicured in preparation for the 2012 Poi Pounder Baseball Tournament to be held in November.

Work is scheduled to be completed October 12, at which time the department will reopen the fields for practices and league play.

The Department of Parks and Recreation apologizes for any inconvenience and thanks the public for its patience while the field maintenance is occurring.
