AT&T Wireless suffers downtime statewide Wednesday morning (July 25)

According to AT&T Wireless customer service Wednesday (July 25) one of their cellphone towers in the Wainaku area is offline today for and they do not expect it to be operational until the end of the week. The representative said other towers in the area are working and should be able to handle the load until the repairs are completed. The tower may have been experiencing problems earlier which led to it being taken offline today according to AT&T.

A new tower has been built near Wailoa State Park and will be operational soon for AT&T customers in Hilo.

Elsewhere in the state AT&T is reporting a cell tower out of service at Kaneohe Marine Corps Air Station today.

According to Anna Crowe, AT&T Senior Account Executive, AT&T in Hawaii experienced a problem with service statewide starting at about 7:15 a.m. Wednesday (July 25). Services were restored about 10 a.m. Hawaii time for customers. Crowe could not confirm if any celltowers were being serviced but said that the statewide disruption is unrelated and technicians are investigating the outage.

    You might check with AT&T. I believe their entire state system was down this morning, Wednesday.
