The National Weather Service in Honolulu has extended a high surf advisory for East facing shores of the Big Island until 4 a.m. Tuesday (March 13).
Surf is forecast to be six to eight feet along East facing shores declining overnight. Surf will be rough and choppy. Swimmers and beachgoers should use caution due to strong rip currents and large breaking waves along the shoreline.
A small craft advisory is also in effect for all Hawaiian waters until 6 a.m. Tuesday.
