Fire/rescue crews responded to a 12:45 p.m. alarm Sunday (March 4) to Laaloa Beach Park for a near drowning.
Crews arrived at the beach park and found firefighters performing CPR on a man rescued from the water. Lifeguards had the man’s neck and back secured due to a possible spinal cord injury from body surfing.
The patient was semi-concious when transported to Kona Community Hospital and reported to be recovering from his injuries.
