Senate president’s reaction to State of the State address

Following Gov. Neil Abercrombie’s State of the State address Monday, Jan. 23, Senate President Shan Tsutsui issued the following statement:

The Governor delivered an inspiring and encouraging speech. He talked about his new day initiatives and his vision for the State, while sharing a lot of details regarding those proposals.

“It is encouraging to hear that the Governor and the Senate are on the same page in terms of moving Hawaii forward. He reiterated the Senate’s theme, ‘Pupukahi I Holomua – Unite to Move Forward’ and our shared objectives – growing a sustainable economy, investing in people and transforming government.

“We also look forward to working with the governor and the House in passing our initiative, The Invest in Hawaii Act of 2012, in order to make it a better day in Hawaii.”
