Hannemann on UPW endorsement for Congress

MEDIA RELEASE

Upon hearing the UPW had endorsed him for the Congressional District 2 seat, Mufi Hannemann released the following statement:

“I am extremely pleased to receive this endorsement from UPW head Dayton Nakanelua and his members. Many of the UPW members are blue-collar workers, who are critical to the operations of government. Given my own working class background, I identify with the needs, hopes, and aspirations of the membership of UPW. I look forward to taking their needs and desires with me to Washington, D.C. and continuing to be a champion for the working class, as I’ve always been throughout my career.”

Monday’s endorsement brings Hannemann’s labor support to 10 unions representing 46,000 active members and retirees throughout the state.

In addition to UPW, the Teamsters, Iron Workers, Sheet Metal Workers, Painters, Glaziers, Floorlayers, Drywall Tapers, ILWU, and SHOPO have all announced their support.
