Red Flag Fire Warning for Leeward sections of all Hawaiian Islands

Red Flag Fire Warning for Leeward sections of all Hawaiian Islands

By Hawaii 24/7 Staff

A Red Flag Fire Warning is in effect for Leeward areas of all Hawaiian Islands due to the low humidity and Northeast winds forecast to be 15-20 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. The warning is in effect from 10 a.m. this morning until 6 p.m. this evening Monday (Nov 28).

Kona, Ka‘u, Kohala and the Saddle Road area are included in the warning area.

A Red Flag Warning means critical fire conditions exist or will occur shortly. The combination of strong winds, low humidity and warm temperatures create conditions to promote rapid wildfire growth should one start.
