Red Flag fire conditions in Kona, Ka‘u and Kohala

The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a Red Flag Warning for Kona, Ka‘u and Kohala through 6 p.m. today (Oct 4).

Low humidity and strong winds have made the threat of wildfires possible. Humidty is forecast to be as low as 44 percent with tradewinds blowing at 15-25 mph with higher gusts.

The Red Flag Warning also extends to leeward areas of all Hawaiian Islands.
