Power outage in Kona affects about 4,100 customers Sunday (Sept 4)

MEDIA RELEASE

Hawaii Electric Light Company (HELCO) has announced that at 2:55 pm on September 4, 2011, power was interrupted to approximately 4100 customers in Kona on Alii Drive and Kamehameha III Road due to a problem at the Kahaluu Substation. HELCO performed switching and power was restored to all customers at 3:21 pm.

HELCO apologizes for any inconvenience this may have caused and sincerely thanks customers for their cooperation and understanding. Mahalo.
