Hilo drowning victim identified

MEDIA RELEASE

A Big Island man who died of an apparent drowning Monday (Dec. 27) at Puu Maile Beach Park in Hilo has been identified as 28-year-old Noah Jolet Konelios of Hilo.

Police and Fire Department personnel responded to a 1:26 p.m. report Monday of a swimmer in distress.

The victim was taken to Hilo Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 2:40 p.m.
