The following is from Amanda Johnson, Kaloko-Honokohau National Historic Park archeologist:

As part of the Kaloko-Honokohau ohana, your concerns and comments are very important to us, and your kokua helps us to manage the park in the spirit it was intended.

Please join us for an open house/meeting this Saturday, Oct. 2 at Kaloko picnic area (on Kaloko beach, on the south end of Kaloko Fishpond) to discuss the Cultural Live-in Center project and its potential impacts on cultural resources in the Park ( i.e. National Historic Preservation Act, Section 106 consultation).

The agenda for the meeting will consist of site visits/walking tour from 8:30-10 a.m. and from 10 a.m.-noon we will be presenting the issues of the project as it relates to Section 106/cultural resources and would like to talk story with you to hear your concerns and comments about the project.

Attached is a map of the alternative locations for the Cultural Live-in
