NHCH hosts its quarterly open house (July 8)

North Hawaii Community Hospital invites the community to an open meeting at 6 p.m. with John White, president and CEO, and the physicians of the Waimea Women’s Center.

The meeting will be in the Mauna Loa/Mauna Kea Meeting Rooms at the hospital. White will provide an update on the state of the hospital, the Joint Commission site visit and findings, and introducing the three new OB/GYN physicians from the Waimea Women’s Center.

Dr. Patricia Gunter will also be giving a brief talk about the newest treatments for the symptoms of menopause. Gunter is a board certified physician and a certified menopause practitioner. Gunter received her Doctorate in Medicine and performed her residency at Baylor College of Medicine.

Dr. Gerard Szczygiel started working with the Waimea Women’s Center in the spring of 2010. He has more than 30 years of experience as an OB/GYN.

He has his Doctor of Osteopathy from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine where he also completed his General Surgery Residency and his OB/GYN Residency.

Dr. Ashley Byno will be here in September. She is also relocating from Texas. She received her Medical Degree at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in June 2006 and completed her residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, where she gained experience in all aspects of women’s care, including prenatal care, ultrasonography, menstrual disorders and gynecological surgery.

All three physicians are scheduled to be at the community meeting at North Hawaii Community Hospital, Mauna Kea/Mauna Loa Conference Room. They will be available to answer questions.

The public is welcome. Drinks and snacks will be available.
