Structure fire burns home in Captain Cook Thursday afternoon

Fire/rescue crews responded to a 12:46 p.m. alarm Thursday (Dec 10) for a structure fire at 82-1041 Kinue Road in Captain Cook.

Firefighters found a two-story home with approximately 30 percent of the building on fire primarily in a storage area under the house with flames wrapping around the outside to the top floor.

The upper floor and lower unit sustained substantial smoke and water damage to the interiors with moderate fire damage to the outside of the structure.

The fire was extinguished by 3 p.m.

The loss was estimated to be $150,000. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
