Big Island dignitaries join Kubo send-off

The former U.S. Attorney Ed Kubo and his wife Tammy were honored by a room full of colleagues, friends  and staff Oct. 29 at the Kai Market restaurant at the Sheraton Waikiki.

Among those attending the lunch for Kubo were Mayor Billy Kenoi, Hawaii County Police Chief Harry Kubojiri, Lt. Gov. Duke Aiona, State Attorney General Mark Bennett, U.S. Attorney Florence Nakakuni, Elliot Enoki, First Assistant U.S. Attorney, Honolulu Prosecutor Peter Carlisle, Chief U.S. District Court Judge Susan Oki Mollway, U.S. District Court Judge Michael Seabright, Magistrate Judge Barry Kurren, First Circuit Court State Judge Sabrina McKenna,  Representative Barbara Marumoto, Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Carol Kitaoka, and Deputy Planning Director Margaret Masunaga.

Kubo, who served as Hawaii’s U.S Attorney 2001-2009, was replaced by Florence Nakakuni.
