Nine new novel H1N1 Flu confirmations on Oahu

The Department of Health reported nine new novel H1N1 Flu cases today (May 29) bringing the state’s total number of confirmed cases to 82. The nine case are on Oahu of these cases three are from public schools. Affected schools are from Kaimuki High, Mililani Middle and Niu Valley Middle schools. Parents were notified via letters and websites.

As of 5 a.m. HST May 29 Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported 8,975 confirmed cases in 49 states and 15 deaths.

The World Health Organization reports as of 8 p.m. HST May 28, 53 countries have officially reported 15,510 cases of influenza A(H1N1) infection, including 99 deaths.
